16 October “World Food Day” A moment of reflection

For me it is actually a good day to reflect on how to reduce food waste and how to raise awareness of others.

And for You ?

World Food Day is an international day celebrated annually around the world on October 16 to commemorate the founding date of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945.For me it is actually one more reason to reflect on how to reduce food waste and how to raise awareness of others.

The salad is prepared with local Maldivian leaves called “Dhigu Thyara Faiy” this kind of information you can’t find usually on the internet 🙂 In the Maldives, the leaves,, are widely used as a leafy vegetable and eaten either raw or mixed with coconut, chilly and onion.

The ingredient for this typical Maldivian salad are mango , local Maldivian leaves , lettuce , coconuts , banana flowers (Banana blossom ) and passion fruit dressing .
