Cristian Marino Advisory · Selected Engagements

For projects beyond a defined service.

Cristian selectively considers substantial hospitality projects that may require direct involvement, on-site presence or a longer advisory relationship.

A different route

Some situations need continuity, presence and judgment over time.

An opening, repositioning or ownership-led transition cannot always be reduced to a single review or decision. The value may lie in helping shape the direction, remaining close to the critical stages and being physically present when the project requires it.

Selected Engagements creates room for that kind of involvement without turning it into a fixed package. Each enquiry begins with the project, the people responsible for it and the outcome that needs to be influenced.

When this route may be appropriate

The project is substantial. The involvement needs to be defined around it.

Openings and reopenings

Projects where culinary direction, operational readiness and key decisions need experienced attention before launch.

Repositioning and restaurant direction

Properties or concepts that need a clearer culinary identity, stronger commercial coherence or a more credible operating direction.

Leadership and operational transition

Moments when ownership or senior management needs continuity, challenge and practical judgment around people, structure and priorities.

Defined on-site involvement

Assignments where selected periods of physical presence can materially improve alignment, preparation or execution.

These examples indicate the kind of situation considered. They are not a menu of fixed packages.

Selective by design

An engagement proceeds only when the conditions are right.

Project fit

The challenge must sit within Cristian’s hospitality, culinary and operational experience, with a meaningful outcome he can help influence.

Decision access

The owner, investor or senior executive responsible for the project must be involved and able to make decisions as the work develops.

Time and scope

Availability is limited. Timing, travel, responsibilities, professional budget and boundaries must be clear before any commitment is made.

Selected Engagements is not open-ended operational management or informal collaboration. It is defined professional involvement shaped around a substantial project.

How an engagement begins

1. Present the project

Share the property, stage, objectives, timing and the kind of involvement you are considering.

2. Initial review

Cristian assesses relevance, decision access, availability and whether a conversation is justified.

3. Paid scope definition

If there is potential fit, a focused paid stage defines priorities, responsibilities and the most useful form of involvement.

4. Engagement proposal

A proposal follows only when the scope, commercial terms, timing and expected contribution are aligned.

Present a project

A concise outline is enough for the first review.

Explain what you are building or changing, who is responsible for the decision and what kind of involvement you believe may be useful. Submission does not guarantee an engagement.
