International Chef’s Day 2022 is about simplicity !
This year my work commitment leads me to celebrate this important day for the second time here in the Maldives.
Every year the International Chefs’ Day is celebrated across the globe on 20 October to create awareness about the profession and celebrate it.
It was instituted to remind chefs that it was their duty to pass on their knowledge and culinary skills to the next generation of chefs with a sense of pride and commitment to the future.
For the celebration of this day we have chosen one of the most favorable items for lunch here in the Maldives islands. Due to the warm climate, island guests prefer to eat something fresh and light and what’s better than the chef’s salad?
Chef’s salad is something most restaurants have on the menu but there is no official recipe for this dish ,so please look below for my version of the world inspired international chef’s salad and you can try it at home if you like it, in the end we are all chefs when we cook 🙂
For the salad dressing :
Ingredients for 8 people
- Mashed ripe avocado g 100
- Cider vinegar ml 2
- Half lemon juice
- Few drops of Worcester sauce few drops
- Greek yogurt g200
- A spoon of water
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt & Pepper
Directions :
In a bowl mix your favorite salad leaves (I would suggest rocket and lettuce) with our “avocado mayonnaise” and garnish with some pumpkin seeds, cashews and some shrimp.
Living in the Maldives is one of the advantages of being a chef and traveler .
